Valencia Elementary School

The Student Council has been hard at work this year. Student Council has met as a group at least once a month to discuss and decide on ways to improve the experience of all the students here at Valencia. We have organized our beloved Spirit Days, helped raise funds for our play structure with a Bake Sale, distributed incentives for student participation, and helped to create awareness by making posters for events around the school.

Not only have we been able to improve spirits here at the school, but our Student Council has been able to touch the lives of people outside of our community. This holiday season we reached out to a less fortunate local family by raising money for the program Aptos Adopt a Family. We are currently collecting coins to improve the lives of children with Leukemia through the “Pennies for Patients” organization.

I have been so impressed with the level of responsibility and leadership shown by all the members of the student council. They have truly made our school and community a better place to be!
