When the Valencia Playground Committee began planning a new play structure, it quickly became clear that the project should benefit all children on campus. A Valencia parent showed the committee an article about the National Center for Boundless Playgrounds, and ultimately the committee decided to install a Boundless Certified Model. In partnership with Boundless Playgrounds, Valencia H&S Club is working hard: the playground has been ordered and new fund-raising is underway to complete the installation.

Valencia Elementary has the PVUSD North Zone's Special Day Class for children with moderate to severe disabilities. This program helps Valencia students with a range of challenges, including some who use wheelchairs for mobility and others who face different disabilities.
Boundless Playgrounds
| Boundless Playgrounds mission is "For every child, a place to play: Every child! Every ability! Everywhere!" Boundless playgrounds are tailor made for the way children are naturally drawn to play and are universally accessible so everyone can play side by side at his or her own highest level of ability. There are no barriers and so for children, parents or grandparents who have disabilities, no one has to leave behind support equipment like wheel chairs or walkers. Children with sensory disabilities like visual or hearing impairments or developmental disabilities have lots to explore too. What's more, the very play activities included for children with disabilities are often the most popular with children who have the ability to play anywhere. | ![]() |
Valencia Boundless Playground - A First in Northern California
Valencia is proud to announce that the school will have the very first Boundless Certified Model north of Los Angeles. We will be the first in all of Northern California. What a wonderful accomplishment for our little public school in Aptos!
The Valencia Playground Planning Committe would like to thank the Valencia Parent Community. Projects like this one would not be possible without parental support for fund-raising.
